Institute of Education (P.G.) for Women, Chandernagore, Hooghly is a Teachers’ Training Institute, located at a stone’s throw away distance from Chandannagar Railway Station. With the establishment of this college in 1965, a new era of enlightenment began in the field of Secondary Teachers’ Training for Women. This is a Government College under the aegis of Department of Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal, affiliated to Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University (BSAEU) and recognized by NCTE. This College is committed to the cause of empowerment of women from all sectors through access to higher education and particularly in Teachers’ Training.

Post Graduate Degree College for Women. Near Chandannagar railway station. As the college gets government subsidies, the cost structure per semester in this college is low. One has to get a good score to get admission in this college. Faculty is good. Visit the college website for more details regarding the session and admission process. Best of luck for the future. This age old educational institute is situated under Singur Block of Hoogly district. Originally the building was built for dwelling purpose by the zaminders in 1908. The structure of this heritage building is based on the 19th century architectural style in Bengal. It was also used as a refugee camp/resident during the partition of Bengal, India in 1946-1947. One of the Hindu family escaped from Bangladesh took shelter in this house in the month of October 1946 due to partition violence. Their 10 members family lived in this house at that time for several months.
